Coffee Clearly Understood
Do you ever find yourself intimidated by looking at a menu when you are trying a new style of food or drink?
Well… That is the exact problem I aim to tackle. Many people are introduced to coffee through Starbucks, me included. They are introduced to coffee through a dark roast maintain a consistency and packing the drink with sugar to cover up the bitter flavor of the coffee.
Coffee does not need to be bitter, it can be fruity, tangy, chocolate, earthy, and naturally sweet, and so much more than what many of us associate with coffee.
Think about it this way…
Dark roast - Cocoa (Dark Chocolate), bitter, but consistent.
Medium roast - Highlighting of flavor profiles range from Fruity, Earthy, to Cocoa with balanced acidity bringing an optimal mouth feel.
Light roast - Highlighting acidity with some bolder fruity flavors.
Because of this way of thinking, we select to carry and craft a range of Medium Roast Coffees only (for now). We believe that it provides a beautiful level of acidity while capturing the flavors that naturally occur in the coffee.
Why Lucidity?
1.) It means to able alert, alive, awake, lucid. This speaks to the feeling coffee gives you when you drink it.
2.) To make clear and easy to understand. I want to approach coffee with the heart of a teacher or peer to anyone who loves coffee and want to know more about it. I want to make coffee easy to understand for someone who knows nothing about it.
3.) Clarity of expression. I will often be using single origin beans (meaning it comes from one singular crop, farm, or region). I want those notes to come through to the coffee in the clear expression of my espresso.
